About Me

Game designer with Architectural Background focused on puzzles, narrative systems and interactive spaces, with hands-on Unity/C# development experience.

Hello!

I'm Andreas, a game designer with a background in architecture, interested in puzzles, narrative systems, and the ways interaction shapes a player's experience.

I began studying Architecture in 2013. A few years into my studies, my interest in video games started growing beyond simply playing them. I became increasingly curious about how games are designed, how their different elements come together, and the creative decisions behind the experiences they offer.

I began exploring this interest through game jams, including helping organise one, as well as writing video game reviews and articles in various gaming sites. I was always interested in looking beyond the finished product, trying to understand the ideas, development processes, and creative work behind each game.

This curiosity gradually found its way into my academic work, too. Both my architectural research paper and diploma thesis focused on the relationship between video games and space, exploring how environments can become an active part of gameplay rather than simply serving as a backdrop.

In 2024, I continued this path through an MSc in Game Development, where I had the opportunity to move from studying games to developing my own. Working with Unity and C#, I became increasingly interested in the process of turning an idea into a playable experience. Even when working on projects with specific requirements, I often found myself looking for ways to strengthen their central idea and make the experience more engaging and enjoyable for the player.

My master's thesis project, I Made Something, brings many of these interests together through puzzle mechanics, spatial design, narrative, and original music. It is also an example of the kind of questions I want to keep exploring through game design.

I'm motivated by the opportunity to keep learning, experimenting, and understanding what makes games work. I'm particularly interested in finding the right mechanics and interactions to express an idea, while creating experiences that are engaging and meaningful for the player.
